Oil States is looking for candidates for the position of Process Control & Instrumentation Tech.
POSITION SUMMARY :
With minimal supervision, supports the Company's instrumentation-based offshore Tendon Tension Monitoring System (TTMS) product line following training program.
Program and build electronic control and data acquisition platforms for production and test equipment. Provide technical support to the engineering and manufacturing departments. Train employees on control systems. Help ensure that Oil States produces quality products that meet or exceed the customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following essential duties and responsibilities make up 75% of this role.
\n
- Design and build panels and electronics for data acquisition and process control equipment
\n
Write software programs for data acquisition and process control equipment.\n
Maintain and troubleshoot existing equipment controls\n
Perform cost estimates, prepare quote requests, and select vendors.\n
Select and procure components, sensors, and instrumentation as required\n
Generate process plans and program logic based upon operation procedures and process requirements\n
Work with machining vendors to produce hardware and tooling as needed\n
Provide instruction and training as needed to subordinates and production personnel.\n
Maintain calibration and logs of transducers and instrumentation used on manufacturing equipment\n
Organize, document, and maintain control program software within our document control system\n
Assist engineering and the test lab with design and development of test control and data acquisition systems\n
Produce electrical schematics and process flow charts\n
Troubleshoot production processes\n
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.\n The following essential duties and responsibilities make up 25% of this role.
\n
Provide telephone support and system troubleshooting to existing installations.\n
Travel to offshore equipment installations when required.\n
Repair and / or recalibrate customer equipment in the product Laboratory.\n
Assist with system modifications and new product development.\n
Assist with new installation manufacture, assembly and deployment.\n \n
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
\n
HS Diploma with at least 5 years' experience with process controls design and programming. Experience in mechanical and electrical systems maintenance. However, will also consider BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with slightly less experience.\n
Programming experience with Labview process control software.\n
Familiarity with hydraulic power and control systems\n
Familiar with material proprieties and machine shop fabrication practices.\n
Ability to interpret and describe technical information.\n
Comprehensive computer skills such as Word and Excel.\n
Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical\n
Field service experience with ability to make independent, informed decisions with minimal supervision.\n
Good interpersonal skills.\n

Must be able to work various hours on nights and weekends when needed\n \n TECHNICAL SKILLS (up to 25%)
Test Equipment
\n
Familiarity with standardized test procedures and concepts.\n
Familiarity with data acquisition and control systems and principles.\n
Reduce and interpret test data.\n \n Field Service

Must be available for customer support by telephone.\n
Ability to troubleshoot problems by telephone or in person, at remote locations.\n \n COMPUTER SKILLS
Experience working across multiple Microsoft operating systems (e.g., Windows 10 / 11, Widows Server).\n TRAVEL AND WORKING CONDITIONS (Up to 25%)

Work without supervision for extended periods of time.\n
Travel is required, including offshore and international. \nMay require extended travel periods of up to 30 days.
\n
May required travel on short notice and for unspecified durations.\n
Make own travel arrangements, balancing cost with schedule requirements and budget constraints. Mode of travel may include automobile, airplane, boat, or helicopter.\n \n
\n
Work in elevated work areas and confined spaces with proper PPE.\n
Perform work assignments in hazardous environments, including offshore installations.\n
Work outside, in extreme weather conditions (cold, heat, humidity, wind).\n
Must obtain and maintain the following certifications : \nValid US passport.
\n
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).\n
Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET).\n
Offshore Water Survival Training.\n
Safe Gulf Orientation.\n
Other certifications or training as required by Customer.\n \n
\n \n PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
\n
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.\n
Prolonged sitting.\n
Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, occasionally working outside in extreme temperatures, and in confined or restricted areas.\n \n CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS -
