Senior Manager – IT Data Governance
Summary :
Reporting to the IT Director, the Senior Manager - IT Data Governance will establish and enforce policies, standards, and procedures to manage data assets for quality, security, availability, and compliance. Key duties include developing data quality metrics, maintaining data catalogs, defining data stewardship roles, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing data access, and resolving data-related issues. Responsibilities also involve collaborating with business units, staff, and aligning data initiatives with business objectives.
Responsibilities :
Policy and Framework Development :
Establish and oversee the organization's data governance framework, policies, standards, and procedures for data collection, storage, processing, and use.
Data Quality Management :
Implement processes to define data standards and business rules, track data quality through profiling and metrics, and identify and resolve data quality issues.
Data Security and Privacy : Ensure the implementation of security measures like encryption and access controls, manage data access permissions, and maintain compliance with data privacy regulations.
Regulatory Compliance :
Monitor and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements related to data handling.
Data Stewardship and Ownership :
Define clear data ownership, assign data stewardship roles, and support data stewards in their efforts to manage data within their specific domains.
Metadata Management :
Oversee the creation, maintenance, and use of a comprehensive data catalog or data dictionary to document data assets, definitions, and metadata.
Stakeholder Collaboration : Foster effective communication and collaboration between IT and business units, acting as a liaison to ensure data requirements and priorities are aligned across the organization.
Monitoring and Evaluation :
Track progress, monitor data quality and usage, and conduct regular reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness and maturity of the data governance program.
Change Management :
Manage the implementation of new data governance initiatives and policies, facilitating organizational changes and providing training to staff on new processes and data-related responsibilities.
Issue Resolution :
Act as a point of escalation for data-related issues, resolving disputes and conflicts that arise from data governance processes and ensuring efficient data flow.

Location : New York City – Hybrid schedule – 3 Days on site / 2 days remote
Salary : $150.000 – Exempt
