Position Summary :

The Painting Assistant supports the paint department by preparing parts and equipment for painting, assisting with paint application, and ensuring finished products meet quality and safety standards. This role plays an important part in maintaining efficient paint line operations and high-quality finishes on manufactured products.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare parts and equipment for painting by cleaning, masking, sanding, and hanging components.
• Mix paint and coatings according to specifications under supervision.
• Assist painters in applying primer and finish coats using spray equipment or other methods.
• Move materials and finished products safely using hoists, carts, or forklifts.
• Inspect painted items for quality, proper coverage, and finish consistency.
• Maintain paint booth, tools, and work area in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials.
• Communicate with team members and leads to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
• Perform touch-up or rework as required.
• Assist with other production or maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications :

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in a manufacturing, paint, or coating environment preferred but not required training provided.

Skills & Abilities

Basic understanding of painting or surface preparation techniques.

Ability to read work orders and follow instructions accurately.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
