Sales Executive Commercial Solar & Storage Business Unit

Founded in 2012, the company provides solar, storage, and efficiency solutions across a broad range of markets with customers ranging from small customers to large Fortune 500 public companies. Our diversified business model includes several lines of business including commercial where we design and build custom solutions for our customer, EPC where we provide turnkey design and installation for other solar companies, and our Developer Business Unit where we own and operate our own solar and storage assets.

Communicate the benefits of energy savings, cost reductions, and environmental impact to a diverse range of clients. The position requires a results-driven individual who can successfully manage sales cycles from lead generation to contract.

The Sales Executive will be in the office and out in the field responsible for selling solar, storage, and efficiency solutions / services to commercial property owners, developers, general contractors, and businesses. This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing tailored energy-saving solutions to meet clients' needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy efficiency products, industry trends, and regulations, with the ability to communicate the benefits of energy savings, cost reductions, and environmental impact to a diverse range of clients. The position requires a results-driven individual who can successfully manage sales cycles from lead generation to contract closure while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

Generate Opportunities : Proactively generate leads through relationships, calls, drop-ins, email campaigns, and networking.

Develop Solutions : Schedule and lead meetings and consultations while taking action-oriented notes. Work closely with clients to gather necessary documents like utility bills and smart meter data. Evaluate each commercial property as a unique opportunity and collaborate with our back-office team to create customized solutions and cost-benefit analyses. Support project development, including design needs and construction documentation.

Close the Deal : Communicate the financial benefits of solar, including ROI, IRR, payback periods, and available tax incentives. Bring in C-Level Executives as needed to help address questions, concerns, and build trusting customer relationships. Manage your sales pipeline, follow up on proposals, and track customer engagement.

Manage Ongoing Relationship : Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to project execution. Close out the customer upon completion. Maintain warm relationships with customers post construction, focusing on lasting customer satisfaction and maintaining an ongoing referral network.

Qualifications Sought :

  • Strong relationship-building skills with a focus on adding value and earning trust.
  • Self-motivated and competitive, with a drive to exceed targets.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
  • Goal-oriented and comfortable with performance metrics.
  • Persistent and persuasive with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Financially savvy, able to discuss financial metrics like ROI, cash flow, and tax incentives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using CRM tools.
  • Preferred Experience :

  • Commercial solar sales experience with an established network.
  • Construction sales experience, particularly with General Contractors.
  • A strong relationship network that can provide immediate sales opportunities.
