Supervisor - Material Services
The Material Services Supervisor directs and coordinates assigned activities for the Material Services group and for the proper utilization of facilities, time and personnel assuring the output and performance conforms to standards of quality and quantity. This position will require working both 1st and 2nd shifts, with specific hours to be determined based on operational needs.
Responsibilities / duties include :
- Plans, directs and coordinates assigned activities.
- Exercises jurisdiction over skilled occupations which include materials cribs, warehouse, shipping / receiving and transportation personnel, etc. performing work to expeditiously support the manufacturing of product component parts and other shop assignment.
- Inputs data via computer systems for such activities as maintenance work orders, hourly employee time charging records, and production / scheduling systems.
- Recommends improvements in shop operating procedures, policies and processes, and may recommend the acquisition of additional or new equipment and machinery when costs and production problems dictate.
- Supports off shifts as required.
- Administers the bargaining unit agreement, transfers, training of subordinates and recommending workforce changes. Performs other miscellaneous functions that are common responsibilities of all supervisory personnel
- Oversees all warehouse and material crib functions
- Ensures shop delivery requests are completed
- Works with planners, schedulers and shop foreman to minimize delays
- Adheres to procedures for storage of certain materials
- Safe transport of tooling and components moved by rail, tractor, trailers, fork trucks, etc.
- Schedules services with outside vendor for maintenance of material service's equipment
- Schedules all plant rail moves, works with railroad crew to ensure safe transport of loaded railcars
- Schedules annual inspection of rail lines with outside vendor, shipping of finished components (Intra Plant Transfers),
- Ensures all documentation is completed and signed prior to releasing load, and works with the Inventory Control Technicians and Inventory Control Analysts.
Minimum job requirements :
A minimum of an associates degree in a related field is preferred. Applicible experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.A minimum of five (5) years experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.This position will require working both 1st and 2nd shifts, with specific hours to be determined based on operational needs.Additional job requirements :
Prior experience with manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or shop floor supervision desired.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.Experience with developing, delivering, and maintaining training activities.Excellent organization and program management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is desired.Benefits :
