Nelson Global Products, Inc. seeks a Quality Manager at its facility located at 3405 Engle Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46809.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Manage and lead the daily activities of Quality Assurance of the plant. Collect, organize, monitor, and report on information related to the functions of the Quality Assurance department. Establish and maintain continuity of quality related programs and / or issues between all departments and all shifts. Assist in the issuing, coordinating, and processing of Return Material Authorizations and Supplier Material Rejections. Interact with both customer and company personnel on all levels regarding quality related issues. Continuously review quality processes for improvement. Maintain plant and company quality standards - PPM goals metrics. Responsible for ISO-9001 : 2015 knowledge audit standards. Responsible for knowledge of IATF 16949 : 2016. Ensure process documentation is maintained and controlled. Maintain calibration program throughout plant. Establish production quality plans and set in-process and final inspection hold points. Schedule and assist in customer inspections audits. Train personnel on quality processes and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS :
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Manager, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with : (1) Developing and implementing manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency; (2) Utilizing ISO 9001 : 2015 standard to create and enforce quality control procedures that align with industry standard, internal expectations, and customer requirements; (3) Utilizing Kaizen methodology and Lean concepts to ensure quality and safety processes are performed as expected; (4) Utilizing Excel and PowerPoint to analyze statistical data, monitor key metrics, identify trends, and generate reports to present to plant and corporate leadership; (5) Utilizing 3P5Y or customer specific documents to investigate quality issues, identify root cause, and take corrective actions to address current issues and prevent reoccurrence; (6) Implementing Layered Process Audits to conduct internal quality audits at all levels to verify adherence to the company's quality management system and relevant customer and regulatory standards; (7) Utilizing supplier portals to monitor and manage supplier quality issues and working with suppliers on corrective action for any issues found with supplied parts; (8) Utilizing New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to manage new product launches through an Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP) and ensure adherence to the launch expectations.
