OSP Design Engineer – Field verification and Design
We are currently recruiting for an Outside Plant Engineer to be based in the Franklin County, VA Area. Local travel is involved, the primary areas covered will be Franklin County, Bedford County, Campbell County and Roanoke County – all Virginia. A company pool vehicle will be provided.
This is expected to be an 18-month contract position doing Field review, design, and OSP / Coax engineering of OSP / CATV infrastructure. - Predominantly aerial.
Pay : $40-$42 / hr. DoE
Role :
Perform field review (in market travel) and gather information to prepare and submit all necessary permits and easements for coax and fiber extensions or relocation of existing facilities.
Prepare cost estimates and stick maps from field review for cost approvals and system mapping design.
Translate collected field information into Designs.
Must be familiar with National Electrical Safety Code or ANSI Standard C2
What will catch our eye :
Strong knowledge of CATV actives, passives, coax cable insertion loss, fiber topology design, NESC codes, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Coax and fiber construction experience is recommended but not required.
Mapcom (M4) and Smartsheet (or Strong Excel)
All equipment to perform required duties and vehicle will be provided.
Solid computer skills are a must (Excel, CAD).
We will are looking for someone that can become the "Go to" person that can build relationships in this market.
