Houston Nursing Job Details

Location : Houston, TX 77090 (Houston healthcare jobs)

Facility Type : Freestanding Emergency Department

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : October 5, 2025

End Date : January 4, 2026

Shift : 7AM – 7PM (12-hour day shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Shifts : Minimum 2 weekends every 2 weeks

Dress Code : Royal Blue Scrubs

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1360 - $1460 per week

ER RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas nursing jobs preferred)

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a main Emergency Room

Background in trauma facility or trauma center

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC

Preferred : Freestanding ER experience, Paramedic License / Certification, lab equipment proficiency (Picolo, Istat, Triage Meter, ID Now, Clinitek), NRP certification

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a 9-bed Freestanding ER

Assist with procedures : chest tube placement, intubation, conscious sedation, wound repair, splinting, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management

Operate clinical equipment : Lucas Device, Nurse-run Lab, Ventilator, CPAP / BiPap, Blanketrol, Lifepack 15

Document patient care using Meditech EMR

Collaborate with a close-knit healthcare team to manage high-acuity patients until transfer

Maintain patient ratios of 4 : 1 and adapt to diverse patient needs
