Claims Software Director and Business Analyst
Position Overview
The Insurance Claims Software Director is an in office senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions that support the insurance claims process. This position bridges the gap between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring that software platforms align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Serves as the liaison between business users, IT teams, and stakeholders, focusing on optimizing the claims process through technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic plans for software architecture, enhancements, and integrations to improve claims processing efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand claims workflows, pain points, and opportunities for automation or digital transformation.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and security standards in all software solutions.
- Oversee project management activities, including budgeting, resource allocation, timelines, and risk management.
- Evaluate and select third-party vendors or partners when necessary and manage vendor relationships.
- Monitor software performance, user adoption, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in insurance technology (InsurTech).
- Gather and document detailed business requirements for insurance claims software enhancements or new features.
- Analyze existing claims processes and identify areas for improvement or automation.
- Work closely with software developers, QA, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Provide training and support to end-users on new software functionalities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to support data-driven decision making.
- Ensure all solutions comply with industry regulations and company policies.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance regulation and technology that could impact claims processing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.Proven experience in software development leadership, ideally within the insurance sector.Strong understanding of insurance claims processes and regulations.Excellent project management and communication skills.Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.Skills
