QC - Optimization Technician

Position : Optimization Technician

Reports to : Quality Control Superintendent

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Position Overview : The Optimization Technician will play a crucial role in maximizing efficiency and quality within our sawmill operations using advanced technology and process improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities :

• Operate and maintain optimization systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency in the sawmill.
• Monitor and adjust processes to minimize waste, maximize yield, and enhance product quality.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to optimization systems and equipment.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cutting patterns, reduce downtime, and improve overall operational efficiency.
• Utilize data analytics and software tools to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to enhance performance.
• Participate in the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures related to optimization systems.
• Train and mentor operators and production staff on the use of optimization systems and best practices for maximizing efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to optimization system performance, maintenance activities, and production metrics.
