Experience with post-TPA patients if ICP monitoring experience is not available. Description : Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite on the first day. This is a PASS / FAIL test. The unit consists of 30 beds with a patient-nurse ratio of 1 to 1-2. Ninety percent of the time, the ratio will be 1 to 2. Charge nurses do not take patient assignments. Nurse aides are not available on the unit. Weekend requirements are every other week. Holidays may be required to work, but not guaranteed at this time. Scrub color is navy. Common diagnoses include trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and ICP monitoring. Candidates must have 2-3 years in specialty and previous travel experience is preferred. Must be prepared to work hard on this unit and be open to asking questions or seeking help when needed. The unit is fast-paced, and it is essential to get along well with others. A robust interventional radiology program exists. Candidates with minimal travel experience will not be considered unless they have excellent past experiences in larger, fast-paced facilities. The hospital has RT and Pharmacy services available 24 / 7. Shifts are made six weeks in advance, and there is one day of floor-specific orientation. Candidates should be aware of the floating requirements to other units. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment, and three shifts for assignments that are shorter than 13 weeks.
