Job Description

Our client, a well-known insurance firm, is looking for a Junior PHP Web Developer to join a growing technology team and help build and maintain high-quality web applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, eager to learn from experienced engineers, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where clean, maintainable code and continuous improvement are valued.

This is a hybrid position based in Houston.

Responsibilities :

Work closely with developers and stakeholders to meet project objectives and deadlines.

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to established standards.

Assist in testing, debugging, and maintaining web applications and databases to ensure strong performance and reliability.

Contribute to documentation for technical processes, system design, and feature implementation.

Support the development and deployment of new features while participating in the full software development lifecycle.

Follow Agile methodologies and best practices under the mentorship of senior developers.

Qualifications :

3+ years of professional PHP development experience.

Must have modern frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel.

Familiarity with front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS, Sass, and JavaScript (Stimulus or similar frameworks preferred).

Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with microservice-based architectures.

Working knowledge of SQL databases, ideally MySQL.

Understanding of modern design patterns, software architecture principles, and web security best practices.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Interest in ongoing learning and professional growth.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
