Position Summary : The Analytical Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, managing laboratory technicians, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of analytical testing processes. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of laboratory safety and quality control. The Analytical Laboratory Supervisor must maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This position requires both technical expertise and people management skills to ensure efficient laboratory operations and high-quality analytical results.

Responsibilities
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to laboratory staffCreate and manage work schedules to ensure adequate laboratory coverageIdentify training needs and develop technical training programsHandle personnel issues and maintain positive team dynamicsParticipate in hiring and onboarding of new laboratory staffOversee all analytical testing procedures and ensure compliance with SOPsReview and approve analytical test results and laboratory documentationTroubleshoot complex analytical problems and equipment issuesValidate new analytical methods and proceduresMaintain laboratory equipment calibration and qualification programsEvaluate and implement new analytical technologies and methodsEnsure proper maintenance of laboratory instruments and facilitiesMaintain compliance with GMP, ISO, and other relevant quality standardsReview and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Participate in internal and external auditsInvestigate out-of-specification results and laboratory deviationsEnsure proper documentation of all laboratory activitiesMonitor quality control metrics and implement improvementsMaintain laboratory safety programs and chemical hygiene plansAdministrative Duties
Manage laboratory budget and resourcesMonitor inventory levels and approve purchase requestsGenerate and review laboratory reports and documentationCoordinate with other departments (Production, QA, R&D)Participate in management meetings and quality review boardsMaintain records of equipment maintenance and calibrationOversee laboratory waste management programsEducation
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related scientific fieldMaster's degree preferredExperience
Minimum 5 years of analytical laboratory experienceMinimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a regulated laboratory environmentStrong background in analytical chemistry and laboratory operationsExperience with quality management systems and regulatory complianceTechnical Skills
Expert knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentationProficiency in LIMS and laboratory data management systemsStrong understanding of statistical analysis and data trendingExperience with method validation and technology transferKnowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, EPA, ISO, etc.)Leadership Skills
