Job descriptionSpecialty : Pediatric Surgery Shift Type : 24-Hour Certification Requirements : Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Surgery, BLS, PALS License Requirements : Iowa medical license Procedures Required : General Surgical Cases (Pediatric and Neonatal), Chest Wall / Pleural Procedures, Central Line Insertion, Chest Tube Insertion, Vascular Surgery (Thoracic, Abdominal), Laparoscopic Surgery (Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication), Additional Procedures for Physicians Trained as Pediatric Surgeons (Esophageal Atresias, Intestinal Atresias, Biliary Atresias, Abdominal Wall Defects - Gastroschisis, Umbilical Defects - Omphalocele, Umbilical Defects - Hernia) Practice Setting : Hospital Based Schedule : 24-Hour shifts, Call Schedule : 7AM to 7AM Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day : 3 Trauma Level / Designation : Level 2 Trauma Center Documentation System / EMR : AEHR Number of Operating Rooms : 20+ Number of General Surgeons in Practice : 2 Patient Age Demographic : Adolescent, Pediatric, Neonate, Adult, Geriatric
