Job descriptionTypically reports to the Assistant Store Manager 0 Direct Reports Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time. Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion (walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting up to 70 lbs, etc.). Typically in a comfortable environment with exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which could cause discomfort or risk of injury. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Must be 21 years of age or older. Valid, active Driver's License Clean Motor Vehicle Record Ability to load and unload heavy items up to 70 lbs. Must pass DOT physical, criminal check Must be familiar with local and surrounding areas Ability to read a GPS and follow directions One (1) year experience driving a box truck and / or flatbed under 26,000 lbs. gross weight or smaller. Overview
The Home Depot is hiring a non-CDL driver associate to drive box trucks under 26,000 lbs gross weight for local customer deliveries. Base pay range is $22.00 / hr - $23.00 / hr. The position may require overtime to accomplish deliveries and maintain customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- 50% - Customer Service : Direct customer interaction and customer service.
- 50% - Driving and Deliveries : Drive a non-CDL vehicle (box trucks and flatbeds under 26,000 lbs. gross weight or smaller) on local routes; communicate delivery updates to customers and stores; load the truck efficiently for unload; assist customers during delivery; update orders in the handheld system.
Other duties include systematically updating order status via handheld device and coordinating with warehouse leaders, store leaders, and associates as needed.
