Bilingual Incentive

Bilingual Incentive pay is 7.5% above the Family Support Worker Supervisor salary.

About the Position :

Under the direction of the Public Health Director, provides administrative supervision and evaluation of assigned licensed professionals, paraprofessionals, interns, and designated support staff. Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates specialized public health programs such as Healthy Families America.

Examples of Duties

  • Supervises, monitors and evaluates the daily case management work of Family Support Workers. Supervises and monitors the work of additional clinical and non-clinical support staff.
  • Evaluates and assigns new cases; monitors caseload volume and activities to ensure the provision of quality services and treatment; reviews charts and daily service activity logs for quality assurance.
  • Monitors productivity of staff to ensure that productivity standards are being met, evaluating potential problem areas, making recommendations for problem resolution and assuring compliance with plan for improvement.
  • Bilingual Candidates : Translates, interprets and otherwise communicates with members of the Spanish speaking community.

Education, Experience & Licenses

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be :

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in a health related or social services related field.
  • OR

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a health related or social services related field and three (3) years of experience working with families and children providing family centered and strength based services preferably in a home visiting environment, of which two (2) years involved providing case management services. Experience providing services utilizing evidence based practices is highly desired. One (1) year supervisory experience is desired.
  • Up to two (2) years of graduate professional education may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • License & Special Requirements :

  • Requires a valid California driver's license.
  • Must possess, or be willing to obtain, a national provider identifier (NPI).
  • Bilingual Candidates :

  • Must pass a Merit Systems Services written and / or oral bilingual proficiency test (or other appropriate test selected by the County) to qualify.
  • Recruitment Information

    The department is currently recruiting for one (1) vacancy.

    In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for a Family Support Worker Supervisor or Family Support Worker Supervisor - Bilingual, as well as, subsequent vacancies, which occur during the life of the eligibility list.

    Testing Dates : December 8-11, 2025. Testing will be provided via email.

    Tentative Interview Dates : 1st- Friday, December 19, 2025 from 3 : 00pm to 5 : 00pm. 2nd- Monday, December 29, 2025 from 1 : 30pm to 3 : 30pm.

    Bilingual Incentive pay is 7.5% above the Family Support Worker Supervisor salary.

    New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.

  • Rates listed in this flyer represent a full-time employee's accrual rate and health insurance premium rate. Part-time employees will have pro-rated accruals and health insurance premium rates based on the number of hours they work.

    SALARY :

  • Annual salary step increases based upon satisfactory performance and completion of one year of employment (Step A to E).
  • HEALTH :

  • Approximately 80% of the premium for medical, dental, and vision plan is paid by the County (EPO Plan). The plan covers the employee and all eligible dependents at NO ADDITIONAL COST!
  • Employee premiums are $234.54 per month as of January 1, 2025 and $266.97 as of January 1, 2026 for employee and all eligible dependents.
  • PAID LEAVES :

  • Benefits also include an annual paid leave plan of
  • 96 hours of vacation (increases upon continuous years of service)

  • 96 hours of sick leave
  • 14 paid holidays plus one 8 hour personal holiday
  • LIFE INSURANCE :

  • Approximately 80% of the premium for a $30,000 life insurance plan for the employee is paid for by the County.
  • RETIREMENT :

  • A retirement plan through CalPERS.
  • CalPERS Formulas :

    Classic member = 2% @ 55

  • New Member = 2% @ 62
  • A Deferred Compensation retirement plan option with a County match of up to a maximum of $60 per month.
