About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring (preferred)

Must-Have : Experience in delivering babies and assisting in C-sections

Description :

Unit specializes in Labor and Delivery and Mother / Baby care.

Candidates should be able to manage all aspects of delivery.

Experience in "catching babies" is highly preferred for this position.

Travelers must circulate in the OR for C-sections, with one RN assigned to the mother and one to the baby.

The unit provides 1 : 2 L&D ratios, 1 : 1 delivery ratios, and 1 : 4 Mother / Baby couplets.

Charting is performed using an electronic medical record system.

Charge nurse responsibilities include break relief and staff management, without direct patient care.

The hospital staff includes nurse aides as needed based on nursing census and staffing requirements.

Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend, with holiday shifts rotating among core staff.

Nights shifts will start at 6 : 45 PM, with patient reports conducted at the bedside.

Travelers have access to their schedules and can trade shifts with other staff members.

If placed on call, a 30-minute response time is required.

Floating may be necessary to other facilities on occasion.

Floor-specific orientation will consist of 1 to 2 days with a preceptor.

Common diagnoses include term and preterm births, with some high-risk cases and antepartum patients.

The facility supports an excellent breastfeeding program and is designated as "baby-friendly."

The hospital allows cancellations up to a certain number of times per assignment duration.
