Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nursing Assistant

Children's Minnesota has the largest Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Minnesota. In the 30-bed PICU at Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Campus, our interdisciplinary team of intensivists, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, social workers and other professionals are dedicated to the advanced care of children with life-threatening critical diagnoses. We specialize in caring for children with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses, including those with respiratory failure, neurological insults, complex post-operative recovery from extensive surgery, severe infections, fluid imbalances and multi-system organ failure. Children's Minneapolis is an ACS Level I trauma center and our PICU cares for children who have experienced a wide range of traumatic events. Many of our patients require assisted ventilation. We also utilize extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) when needed. Our patient population requires complex care, including hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, maintenance of systemic perfusion and management of organ failure. Our team balances a highly technical skill set with a family-centered approach. Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard. Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
