Position Overview
A leading outpatient oncology clinic in eastern North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified, fellowship-trained Hematology / Oncology Physician to provide short-term locum tenens coverage. The provider will join a well-established practice known for delivering compassionate, evidence-based cancer care with a dedicated infusion team and advanced EMR infrastructure.
Providers will arrive on Monday, December 29 at 7 : 00 a.m. for a one-hour orientation prior to clinic start.
Assignment Highlights
Schedule :
Monday - Thursday 8 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m.
Friday 8 : 00 a.m. - 12 : 00 p.m.
Closed January 1, 2026 (New Year's Day)
Setting : Outpatient clinic with 14-chair infusion center
Average Patient Volume : 15-20 patients per day
Call : None
Weekends : None
Procedures : Supervision of chemotherapy administration
EMR : EPIC
Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient care for hematology and oncology patients.
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage oncology and hematology cases, including chemotherapy and infusion therapies.
Supervise and oversee chemotherapy administration within the infusion center.
Coordinate care with referring physicians, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary team members.
Review labs, imaging, and pathology reports to develop individualized treatment plans.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation in EPIC EMR.
Respond to emergencies and codes within the outpatient clinic as needed.
Conduct consultations and follow-up visits at both the Kinston and Richlands locations.
Support safe and compliant operations consistent with client and HPA Healthcare standards.
Skills & Experience
Board Certified in Hematology / Oncology
Fellowship trained in Hematology / Oncology
Active NC Medical License (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Proven outpatient oncology experience
Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
