Assistant or Associate Professor - Beef Cattle Extension & Research
This is a nine-month, tenure track appointment (60% Extension, 35% research and 5% service) position with two months of summer salary (11.111% per month) guaranteed in the Department of Animal and Dairy Science (ADS) in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. The position will be located at the UGA Tifton Campus.
The successful candidate will develop and provide leadership for a relevant nationally / internationally recognized beef cattle Extension and research program. Extension activities will include interaction with county agents and other scientists in developing a state-of-the-art information / technology transfer program for the Georgia Beef Industry. The position will direct the Tifton Bull Evaluation Center and Heifer Evaluation and Reproductive Development (HERD) Program. Research activities will be determined based on the successful candidate's area of expertise, but emphasis will be placed on an externally funded, applied research program. Participation in the Junior Livestock Program is also required.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Minimum qualifications : An earned doctorate in Animal Science or a closely related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
