Responsibilities Position is in an acute care setting on an ED Holds / Telemetry unit Primarily cares for ED holds with MS / Tele patient population Unit patient ratio is typically 1 : 4 Strong focus on cardiac telemetry, including titration of drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips without the support of monitor techs No ventilator support required on the unit 12-hour shifts available for days or nights (7a–7p or 7p–7a) Weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff Floating required to med / surg, tele, overflow units, and sister EDs as needed Cerner EMR is used and previous experience is preferred Navy scrubs required Primary duties include caring for patients holding in the ED awaiting inpatient placement May assist with ED patient care tasks such as vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration Will not serve as primary RN for new ED cases Orientation includes two shifts on med / surg / tele at the primary campus First day includes skills assessment in SIM Lab for Foley insertion and central line care Internal candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility First-time travelers in MS / Tele are considered Travelers who do not pass required testing may be disqualified from working in the system for 6 months Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry nursing experience required Certifications required : BLS and ACLS (must be active, not pending) Ability to titrate cardiac drips and update cardiac gtts per physician orders Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum 2 attempts) Must successfully complete a pass / fail SIM Lab on sterile techniques during orientation RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips Two professional references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last three years Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-613852.
