Overview

This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI). Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting.

Responsibilities

Support and enhance existing web applications maintained within the Enterprise section. This person will join an existing team responsible for maintaining and enhancing web-based applications.
Participate in requirements analysis, frontend and backend web application development, testing, and participation in interactive code reviews.
Develop quality code, follow coding standards, active participation in code reviews, and provide technical documentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required Technical Skills

C# and ASP.NET (MVC 5 & Core 8); experience building and maintaining web applications using both legacy (.NET Framework) and modern (.NET Core) platforms.

.NET Core 6 / 7 / 8; experience developing RESTful APIs and web applications using .NET Core, including dependency injection, middleware, and minimal APIs.

VB.NET; ability to understand, debug, and enhance legacy codebase.

.NET Framework (4.8); deep understanding of the .NET runtime, libraries, and configuration.

Kendo UI (jQuery + MVC Wrappers); experience creating rich UI components and interactions using Kendo UI widgets.

JavaScript & jQuery; frontend scripting, DOM manipulation, AJAX calls, and event-driven UI design.

SQL Server; writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning.

Oracle & DB2; understanding of working with multiple RDBMS systems and data integration.

Well-qualified Candidates Will Also Have

Web API (RESTful service); building and consuming web services with security and versioning in mind.

Entity Framework / Dapper / ADO.NET; ORM tools and raw data access strategies.

Front-End Integration; HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and browser compatibility.

Unit Testing; writing and maintaining unit tests for both front-end and back-end code.

Version Control Systems; experience with Git.

Team & Expectations

The person in this position will work closely with the team in developing the frontend and server side of the web application. Project duties include requirements analysis, front-end and back-end web application development, testing, and participation in interactive code reviews. The developer may work on other projects as needed. A successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be a team player.
