Responsibilities Work in a Level 2 acute hospital Labor & Delivery unit Patient population includes high-risk laboring patients, postpartum mothers and babies, and GYN surgical patients Nurse to patient ratios include 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 for L&D, 1 : 3 for mom / baby couplets, and 4 for GYN, with mixed assignments up to 1 : 5-6 Unit has 19 beds Requires 12-hour night shifts with some day shifts, including every other weekend and holiday Requires willingness to float to newborn nursery and NICU for helping hands Uses fetal monitors, OBIX documentation, centralized L&D monitoring, and Epic EMR 36 hours of orientation provided for travelers Responsibilities include nursing care for laboring and high-risk patients, postpartum mom and baby care, and postoperative GYN care Navy blue scrubs required for GYN and mom / baby care; hospital-provided scrubs for L&D Travelers with previous employment at the health system must have an end date at least 6 months before consideration Holiday coverage is required on a rotating basis Candidates with permanent addresses within 80 miles of the facility are not accepted All staff must badge in and out upon arrival and departure Requirements Active ND or compact RN license Minimum of 3 years of experience in L&D, postpartum, and GYN care Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP required Experience with fetal monitoring required Willingness and ability to float to newborn nursery and NICU as needed Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618671.
