Position Overview :
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Activity Director to plan, implement, and oversee recreational and therapeutic activities that enrich the lives of our residents. This role is essential in fostering a vibrant community and promoting social interaction among residents.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities and special events for residents, including games, arts and crafts, exercise classes, and group outings.
- Encourage resident participation and engagement in activities, adapting programs to meet the diverse needs and interests of individuals.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during activities, ensuring residents’ comfort and safety at all times.
- Collaborate with nursing and care staff to integrate residents’ preferences and needs into activity planning.
- Document resident participation and feedback, reporting any concerns to the Activity Director.
- Assist with transportation and logistics for off-site activities and appointments.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and staff to create a supportive community atmosphere.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in recreation therapy, social work, or a related field is a plus.Previous experience in a healthcare or senior care setting, particularly with elderly populations, is preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for working with seniors.Creative and enthusiastic approach to planning activities.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Basic computer skills and familiarity with activity planning software is a plus.What We Offer :
