About the Role :
Join the 4 North Cardiac Telemetry Unit at Research Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on a contract assignment. This 29-bed telemetry unit provides specialized care to post-cardiac procedure patients. We're looking for experienced, patient-focused LPNs with strong telemetry and cardiac care backgrounds. Missouri IV Certification is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide bedside care to post-procedure cardiac patients (ablation, cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement, post-op open heart)
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips (training / experience required)
- Administer and titrate IV medications (e.g., insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
- Perform skilled nursing procedures including IV starts, Foley insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, and chest tube care
- Document using Meditech EMR
- Communicate effectively with RNs, charge nurses, techs, and other staff using iMobile
- Maintain exceptional patient experience standards - respond promptly to call lights, use preferred patient names, and involve patients in bedside shift reports

- Patient Ratio : 1 : 4
- Support Staff : Charge RN, Unit Secretary, Patient Care Techs
- Equipment : Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Welch Allen vitals machines, wound vacs, pacemakers, bladder scanners, EKG machines
- Scheduling : Must work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
- Floating : May float to other units based on demonstrated competencies
Required Qualifications :
Active LPN license in MissouriCurrent MO IV Certification - REQUIREDBLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certificationsExperience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU settingAbility to interpret EKGs and respond appropriatelySkilled in administering IV medications and performing nursing proceduresWhat Makes Us Stand Out :
