The County of Hawai`i is hiring for a position with a salary of $52,656.00 annually. The job is located in Kailua-Kona, HI, and is available in both permanent and temporary capacities. There is an immediate vacancy in the Department of Finance - Vehicle Registration & Licensing Division.

This position involves administering written and visual acuity tests, conducting road performance tests, scoring tests, issuing and collecting fees for driver licenses and instruction permits, and performing other related duties. The working condition is considered hazardous due to the significant time spent on road testing driver license applicants.

Minimum qualification requirements include graduation from high school and two years of supervisory, inspectional, driver training instructional, regulatory, or related experience, including some public contact explaining rules and regulations. A good driving record certified by a traffic abstract is also required, as well as possession of a valid State of Hawai`i Driver License (Class 3) or any other valid comparable driver license for three years immediately preceding appointment.
