The Staff Physical Therapist plans, evaluates, and implements individualized treatment programs based on each patients unique needs. Working as part of an interdisciplinary rehab team , the therapist helps patients restore function, improve mobility, and achieve their highest level of independence.Key Responsibilities
Review and evaluate physician referrals and patient needsDevelop and implement personalized physical therapy programsUtilize various modalities such as exercise, gait training, ultrasound, hot / cold therapy, electrical stimulation, and tractionInstruct patients in the safe use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, canes, braces, etc.)Monitor patient progress, document treatment plans and results, and adjust care as neededCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team membersMaintain compliance with all hospital safety, infection control, and quality improvement standardsSupervise and mentor support staff and assist in department operationsParticipate in continuing education and maintain licensure and certificationsQualifications
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Physical Therapy in the State of New YorkBLS Certification (required within 90 days of hire)Experience in a hospital or inpatient care setting preferredStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistanceRegular standing, bending, and lifting associated with patient care activitiesJoin the Team
