Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a travel Radiology Technologist for a travel job in Normal, Illinois.

Positions patient and adjusts equipment, secures, and immobilizes support devices as needed to perform procedures. Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient’s condition to obtain quality films to provide to the radiologists. Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed tests, medication reconciliation and records on appropriate form for the radiologist’s review. Assists radiologists with routine fluoroscopic and / or invasive procedures. Operates portable radiographic equipment and C-arm effectively in patient room, intensive care, and surgery. Initiates request for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition; this is to include code blue, rapid response, etc. Documents all allergic reactions according to departmental and hospital policy. Transports patients into and out of department as necessary. Checks film quality to assure optimal quality is attained and correct film labeling is provided. Performs quality control activities, responds to inquiries, coordinates patient flow, and communicates with staff radiologists and other hospital personnel to ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion. Prepares radiographic / fluoroscopic rooms for procedures, maintains equipment, and supplies as required. Reports deficient inventory of supplies and linen to Lead Technologist. Provides direction and instruction to students in general procedures. Maintains positive “guest relations” and telephone etiquette following prescribed departmental policies and procedures. Perform all other job duties as assigned. Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Position and immobilize patient on examining table. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff. Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
