Job Title

The Landfill Leachate Transport Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a non-CDL tractor trailer to transport leachate within the landfill site. This position does not require operation on public roadways and is confined to internal haul routes. The operator plays a key role in supporting environmental compliance and site operations by ensuring timely and accurate movement of leachate to designated containment or treatment areas.

The Landfill Leachate Transport Operator will :

• Operate a non-CDL tractor trailer to haul leachate between collection points and storage or treatment facilities within the landfill site. Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard eDVIR (electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on eDVIR form for corrective review / repair.
• Position containers on landfill property in a manner that ensures containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Monitor leachate levels and communicate with site personnel to coordinate hauling schedules.
• Ensure proper connection and disconnection of hoses and fittings during loading and unloading.
• Follows work assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of scheduled shift.
• Maintain accurate records of loads transported, including volume, time, and destination.
• Immediately report any unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to Direct Manager and site Fleet Manager before attempting service.
• Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Direct Manager.
• Work closely with Landfill site managers to improve efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe areas of operation.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Direct Manager, assisting in site operations as directed.
• Notify of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
