Payrate: $17/hr
Shift: 3rd

Job Summary: To handle and package all bread and roll products in the highest quality and in a timely manner, according to job function, process controls, product specifications assigned by the Production/Packaging Supervisor or Foreperson.

Company Work Statement: Employees are responsible for executing company processes by working together as a team in a safe, professional, and effective manner. Employees must be in compliance with all company rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

• Responsible for reporting food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Work well and cooperate with other members of the line/department and provide good teamwork. Be in the correct position on time and ready to work. Be sure to be present in proper uniforms with correct Personal Protective Equipment requirements. Ensure that all equipment is operating correctly at respective position. Ensure that there is sufficient amount of material (trays, boxes, closures, bags, etc.) to perform tasks. Ensure proper product specification: specified packaging material, pieces per package, proper closures, proper code information, proper carton, specified number of units per tray, packages arranged with tails facing inward. Ensure that Slicer Blades are in place at proper setting and cleaned thoroughly. Use paper, poly liners in trays and boxes accordingly to product specifications. Set-up Kwik-Lock machine with appropriate color-code kwik-locks/date stamp. Maintain reasonable lock tension closure on packages. Ensure that products aren’t being closed too tight nor too loose in relation to tension of the bag. Record an accurate count of packaged units. Ensure that Packaging Line is running at proper speed for product being packaged. Determine damaged product (out of specification) and discard product. Report any foreign material detection to Packaging Foreperson or Production/Packaging Supervisor immediately and follow product hold and recall procedures if necessary. Relieve fellow line workers when on breaks/lunches. Use any down time to assist with cleaning the department and packaging line and for preparing trays and boxes. Communicate frequently with Packaging Foreperson and/or Machine Operator about product sequence and schedule. Communicate any problems/concerns on packaging line to Packaging Foreperson and/or Machine Operator.
