Material Handler 2
The temporary Material Handler 2 will be primarily responsible for picking, packing and shipping materials to Avive's Contact Manufacturers (CM), Customers, and 3PL Locations. They will also support daily inventory and manufacturing activities. The work environment is fast-paced and the need for quality and accuracy are very high. The ability to keep pace, see problems in advance and still maintain the highest work standards are required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and accuracy.
What You'll Do :
Including, but not limited to :
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Prepare and stage finished goods for shipment, including packing, labeling, and securing products.
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain accurate stock levels and records.
- Store and organize materials in designated locations using a systematic approach to ensure easy retrieval.
- Use inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) to track material movements and update stock information.
- Identify and report on inventory discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Safely operate and conduct pre-use inspections of various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Transport materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including loading docks and storage areas.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues to a supervisor immediately.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisors, production teams, and other warehouse staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support team goals and production schedules.
Desired Skills & Experience :
High school / GED degree required or equivalent to 2-4 years previous experience in materials handling and inventory controlExperience in medical device or another regulated environment is a plusStrong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably NetSuiteAbility to work with minimal supervision and oversightCustomer service oriented with both internal and external customersAccuracy and attention to detail essentialWorking safely, accurately, and quickly are the key to being successful in this positionGood verbal and written skills required, competent in basic math conceptsBonus Points For :
