Delivery Assistant Territory Managers (ATM's) assist Territory Managers in ensuring that all delivery routes within their territory are efficiently routed, properly staffed and best serviced on a daily basis to meet and exceed our customers' expectations. ATM's supervise delivery personnel while in the market, work closely with customers, and ensure product quality and rotation within accounts. They train and develop new drivers with the hands-on requirements of the job. Successful ATM's are able to build strong relationships with customers and are self-motivated, communicative and thrive in work environments requiring collaboration, team work, interpersonal skills and managing conflict internally and externally.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university; or High School Diploma or GED plus three (3) or more years related experience in transportation, delivery, or logistics
- Proven experience in and an understanding of Delivery and Warehouse Operations
- Clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
- Ability to secure and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws
- Must be certified to use power equipment (ex : electric pallet jacks and forklifts)

Mentor driversAssist in managing drivers to include achievement of daily delivery objectives and ensuring customer needs at accountsResponsible for fostering and maintaining excellent customer relationsAssist with training, developing, evaluating and motivating drivers to foster the success of individual contributors and overall team successMake recommendations for advancement and evaluation of driversAssist with performance and discipline management of driversAssist in monitoring delivery personnel progress with established expectationsAssist in managing delivery personnel time and attendanceReview and follow up on SmartDrive reports for driver performance improvement, coaching and corrective actionAssist in investigating problems and carrying out a course of action to correct issueEnsure product quality and rotation at accounts. Handle major accounts. Resolve issues when they arise within an accountResponsible for overseeing delivery personnel's completion of pre-trip and post-trip inspections and inspections of other equipmentBuild and maintain strong relationships internally and with customersWork flexible hours which includes early mornings and late nights if needed. May include weekends on occasion, and additional hours during peak seasonsRun delivery routes as necessary to ensure product is delivered timely and efficientlyPerform other duties as assignedCompetencies
