Sigma Design has collaborated with a global company seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their facility in McMinnville, OR. This company has designed and manufactured transition metal carbides, thermionic and field electron sources for over two decades.

Primary function :
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians supporting the production of high-tech components for electron microscopes, x-ray tubes, additive manufacturing systems, lithography tools, and metrology tools. This hands-on leader will oversee daily production support, drive process and cost improvements, implement new technologies, ensure quality compliance, and support supplier validation while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities :
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and techniciansEnsure smooth daily production support and resolve technical issuesDrive process improvements to increase yield, throughput, and efficiencyOversee cost reduction initiatives and resource optimizationImplement and validate new manufacturing equipment and processesEnsure compliance with quality systems, regulatory standards, and documentationManage non-conformances, CAPAs, and root cause analysis activitiesCollaborate with Supply Chain on supplier evaluation, qualification, and issue resolutionSupport new product introduction (NPI) with scalable and cost-effective processesFoster continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen practicesFollow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrencesEducation and Experience : (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or related field (Master's a plus)Minimum of 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in high-tech or regulated industries3+ years of leadership experience managing engineers and / or techniciansStrong expertise in process development, equipment qualification, and problem-solvingWorking knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, or equivalent quality systemsProficiency with root cause analysis tools (8D, FMEA, 5-Why, Fishbone)Proven success in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)Experience with UHV, high voltage, or electron microscopy a plusExcellent cross-functional communication and leadership skillsBackground - Pass a post-offer background verification.Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
