Data Engineer Analyst (Alteryx & Big Data Focus) | Contract-to-Hire

Our client, a leading local Hospital / Healthcare System in Altamonte Springs, FL , is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Data Engineer Analyst to join their team.

This is a critical, on-site contract-to-hire position where you will spend the first 6 months as a contractor, with the strong intent to convert to a full-time employee based on performance and business needs. You will be essential in building, optimizing, and maintaining the core analytical datasets that drive clinical and operational intelligence.

Position & Compensation Details :

Location : On-Site in Altamonte Springs, FL

Pay Rate$45.00 - $50.00 per hour (W2 employee with ProStaff)

Employment 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (Path to full-time employment)

Key Responsibilities :

  • Data Pipeline Development : Design and assemble large, complex datasets from various operational and Big Data sources using ETL / data preparation tools, with a mandatory focus on Alteryx .
  • Analytical Data Modeling : Develop reusable Developer Datasets (DDS) and Data Models (DDM) and assist in optimizing the existing data infrastructure for greater scalability and efficiency.
  • Performance Optimization : Partner with the Data Warehouse team to optimize SQL query performance through indexing, analyzing execution plans, and managing incremental data loads.
  • BI & Analytics Enablement : Translate complex business logic (e.g., from transactional EMR databases ) into conformed, clean datasets specifically structured for consumption by BI tools.
  • Healthcare Domain Expertise : Understand Healthcare Consumer Relationship Management (CRM) principles and extract / blend data from various CRM sources (e.g., Salesforce, Medallia) to create meaningful datasets.
  • Quality Assurance : Perform end-to-end data validation to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all delivered data sets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate closely with clinical, product, and executive teams, managing technical requests and projects under methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Data Engineering, ETL Developer, or Data Analyst role focused on data preparation.
  • Mandatory expertise in Alteryx for workflow development, non-traditional ETL, and creating analytical datasets / extracts.
  • High proficiency in SQL and deep experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and database architecture within Enterprise Data Warehouse and Big Data environments.
  • Experience working with data from Healthcare CRM and / or EMR platforms is required.
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis and develop analytical solutions to identify patterns and relationships within complex data.
