Must-Have : Must have 1-2 years of Emergency Department experience and be comfortable with pediatrics. Must be able to manage the Emergency Department flow.

Description :

The Emergency Room treats an average of 110-120 patients per day.

It is a Trauma Level IV, STEMI and Stroke Receiving center.

Patients are transferred out for further interventions when necessary.

The department features 24 rooms and 4 low acuity bays with chairs, including one trauma / crash room.

Triage is conducted 24 / 7, although travelers typically do not perform triage duties.

Patients are occasionally held within the ER, with the longest holding time being 20 hours.

There are 4 rooms designated for behavioral health patients.

Security is present in-house 24 / 7, with a station located in the lobby next to triage.

On each shift, there are ED techs, a patient sitter if needed for behavioral health, and a secretary available.

Respiratory therapy staff is present 24 / 7 and will perform breathing treatments and EKGs.

RNs primarily draw blood, although phlebotomy assists with difficult sticks.

Shifts start at various times, and self-scheduling is employed to balance the needs of the department.

Expectations include every other weekend work and the possibility of floating to other locations, though this does not happen often.

The department has a strong team culture with experienced staff and good ratios, and staff often socialize outside of work.

There is a nearby factory that may affect the local aroma.
