Summary
The Senior Internal Communications Manager will lead strategic communication efforts for major change management initiatives across Freeman, including digital transformation, business transformation, and M&A integrations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Internal Communications, this role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and work teams, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and aligned during periods of significant organizational change.
This position requires a strong strategic mindset, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences. The Senior Manager will develop and execute integrated communication plans that drive understanding, reduce uncertainty, and foster a culture of adaptability and resilience.
This role also contributes to the broader internal communications strategy, helping manage key channels such as the intranet, newsletters, and company-wide meetings to ensure communications are aligned, impactful, and audience-focused. Familiarity with emerging tools, including AI-powered platforms for content creation, analysis, and personalization, is increasingly important to optimize reach and efficiency.
This position will support our Marketing team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and / or show-site 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of our North Dallas office in Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Change Management Communications
Design and implement communication strategies that support organizational change initiatives (e.g., restructuring, technology adoption, cultural transformation, M&A integrations)
Partner with IT, HR, and senior leadership to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and empathetic during transitions
Develop toolkits, FAQs, and leader guides to equip managers for effective change conversations
Strategic Communications Leadership
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on messaging, timing, and tone for change-related communications
Align change communications with enterprise priorities and cultural values
Monitor employee sentiment and feedback to adjust messaging and improve engagement
Content Development & Channel Management
Craft compelling content for multiple formats : leadership emails, intranet articles, presentations, and live events
Manage internal channels (intranet, newsletters, Teams, town halls) to ensure timely and effective delivery of change-related messages
Understand and leverage digital tools and analytics to optimize reach and impact
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Track effectiveness of change communications through engagement metrics and feedback loops
Provide insights and recommendations to refine strategies and improve outcomes
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year accredited college or university with a concentration in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field is required
8-12 years of experience in corporate or executive communications, preferably within large, matrixed organizations
Proven ability to partner with senior leadership and influence communication strategies
Experience developing and executing communications plans on major change management initiatives for large-scale business transformations and M&A integrations
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills; able to simplify complex concepts and navigate sensitive topics
Exceptional organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; able to build trust with executives and cross-functional partners
High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information
Familiarity with platforms like Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams), SharePoint, Poppulo, and emerging tools for content personalization and analytics
Proactive and resourceful self-starter who takes ownership of execution while welcoming input and feedback
