Project Engineer - Marine Construction Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer with expertise in marine and heavy civil construction to join our team in Long Beach, CA. In this pivotal role, you will support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects by coordinating field operations, managing documentation, and ensuring safety and quality standards. Project Engineer - Marine Construction??????? Responsibilities
- Support safety and quality compliance by participating in safety meetings and maintaining documentation in accordance with OSHA, USACE, and company policies.
- Assist superintendents and foremen with planning, scheduling, and executing daily construction activities.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries, including quarry operations and rock transport.
- Verify field conditions and adjust work plans to optimize efficiency and safety.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of crew activities, material usage, and equipment deployment.
- Track project production, monitor progress against goals, and report findings to management.
- Document material quantities for billing, payment, and project reporting.
- Perform progress surveys, create cross-sections, and support the development of bathymetry maps.
- Support project scheduling efforts, helping to develop and maintain planning timelines.
- Assist with project documentation, including progress photos, as-builts, and closeout documentation.
- Provide technical support for layout, surveying, estimating, and reporting activities.
- Support project closeout procedures and client documentation needs.
- Travel to out-of-town project sites as required, with some weekend work anticipated.
Project Engineer - Marine Construction Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within marine or heavy civil projects.Valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.Strong knowledge of construction document control processes such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress payments.Project Engineer - Marine Construction Preferred Position Requirements
Experience with USACE projects and familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety standards.Completion of EM 385-1-1 training for SSHO or QC Manager roles preferred.Hydrographic or topographic surveying experience, with knowledge of Hypack software.Prior experience with estimating software such as HeavyBid.Skilled in project scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera P6.#LI-OnsitePandologic.
