Job description

Payroll Leader Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced payroll leader to oversee and manage payroll operations for a large, multi-state organization in Shoreview, Minnesota. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and process improvement strategies. The ideal candidate will excel at driving efficiency, fostering team development, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee full-cycle payroll operations for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Review and verify payroll calculations, including overtime, bonuses, commissions, and benefits deductions, to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, managing tax filings, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Conduct and manage payroll audits, including internal, external, and governmental reviews.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to implement changes to compensation structures and benefits affecting payroll.
  • Evaluate and refine payroll processes and team structures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
  • Work closely with finance teams to develop efficient and clear payroll reporting processes.
  • Ensure accurate tax withholding, reporting, and remittance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes affecting payroll compliance and proactively implement necessary adjustments.

Requirements :

  • Proven experience in full-cycle payroll management for organizations with over 500 employees.
  • Expertise in multi-state payroll operations and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and other payroll systems.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, including garnishments and tax regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor payroll teams effectively.
  • Experience with process improvement and automation strategies for payroll systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills for reconciling payroll data and ensuring accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
