We’re seeking a Senior Visual Designer to join the digital product organization at a leading global aviation company. In this role, you’ll craft visually compelling, user-centered experiences across responsive web and mobile, contributing to high-visibility products that support how millions of customers shop, book, and manage their travel. You’ll help shape the future of the digital ecosystem by bringing elevated visual craft, clear interaction patterns, and scalable design systems thinking.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on visual designer with strong UX sensibilities, expert-level proficiency in Figma, and the ability to confidently communicate and “sell” design decisions to cross-functional partners. You thrive in a collaborative environment and know how to translate complex user needs and business requirements into transparent, intuitive, and inclusive digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Plan & Concept
- Visualize early ideas using sketches, whiteboarding, and rapid concepting tools.
- Explore opportunities for innovation based on user insights, competitive analysis, and business goals.
- Identify user needs and define product requirements in partnership with UX, product, and research teams.
Design & Refine
Create polished, brand-aligned visual designs across web and mobile—including search, booking, checkout, account experiences, dashboards, and other core customer touchpoints.Develop intuitive, scalable interaction patterns and extend design system components when needed.Produce low- to high-fidelity prototypes that clearly communicate flow, interaction, and motion.Iterate based on usability testing, research findings, accessibility standards (WCAG), and stakeholder feedback.Define & Communicate
Deliver detailed specifications, redlines, annotations, and design documentation to support engineering handoff.Present work to UX leadership, product teams, and executives with a clear rationale rooted in data and best practices.Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and cross-functional partners throughout delivery.Mentor junior designers and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture.Required Qualifications
6+ years of professional UI / UX or visual design experienceExpert proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, interactions, and animationsStrong portfolio demonstrating :layout and hierarchy excellencedesign system usage or contributionsinteraction design and motion-informed workflowsclear process (sketch → low-fi → high-fi)Solid understanding of UI principles, information architecture, and responsive frameworksExperience designing for accessibility and inclusivity (WCAG)Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skillsExperience working in multi-disciplinary, highly collaborative environmentsPreferred Experience

Location : Hybrid in Chicago, IL, or Remote Candidates in Central or Eastern U.S. time zonesHours : 40 hours per weekSchedule : 9 AM – 5 PM Central Time, 1 day / week, onsite option if local to ChicagoDuration : Long-term Contract (1 year with high likelihood of extension or full-time conversion)Travel : Minimal; occasional travel for workshops or project needs (reimbursed).Interview Process : Two video interviews with senior design leadership.
