Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IR PACU position requiring pediatric PACU and ICU experience, as well as a KY or compact license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in an Interventional Radiology Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (IR PACU) within a hospital setting
  • Care for both adult and pediatric patients in phase 1 recovery
  • Work schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week with variable start times (6 : 00, 7 : 00, or 8 : 00 AM)
  • Required to stay late 3-4 times per 6-week schedule period
  • On-call required with a 1-hour response time; weekday call from 8 : 00 PM to 6 : 00 AM, weekend call in two 12-hour shifts
  • Staff may float within the hospital or to affiliated hospitals as needed
  • Floating may involve recovering IR PACU patients in the main PACU if needed
  • Responsibilities include phase 1 recovery for post-procedure patients from IR, both pediatric and adult
  • The IR PACU call team will follow patients to the main PACU if necessary and will only be responsible for IR PACU patients
  • Modules averaging 6.5 hours will be completed during orientation and annually
  • Candidates must have been gone for at least 90 days if returning as a traveler
  • Local travelers living within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
  • Rehire eligibility is determined prior to assignment and previous facility employment must be disclosed
  • Compliance with annual and specialty-specific training modules required

  • Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and at least 1 year of ICU experience required
  • IR PACU experience with phase 1 recovery required
  • Experience caring for pediatric patients required
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (PALS must be obtained prior to start if not already held)
  • Must not have any licensure disciplinary actions
  • One reference from a charge nurse or supervisor required for consideration
