Job descriptionRegistered Nurse position in a Major Trauma unit specializing in multi-trauma, neuro surgery, and orthopedic trauma. Experience in neuro surgery is required. Patient diagnoses include multi-trauma, seizure, GSW, falls, TBI, stroke, sepsis, psych, and epidural hematomas. Current and valid Louisiana RN license or Compact License required. BLS certification required; must be AHA only and RQI is accepted. ACLS certification preferred; must be completed if certification expires within 30 days of start. Every other holiday required. Float requirement : Can be pulled to all other inpatient units. Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests; schedule as needed per unit. Special procedures include craniotomy, spinal fusions, ORIF, and muscle flaps. Special equipment includes traction, external fixators, PCA pumps, and central lines. Current / valid Drivers License / State ID or government photo ID required; copy must be in color. Must check Unit Description to determine certifications required; if blank, reach out to Program Management team.
