Goodwin, an international, AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Legal Intern to support our Private Equity team in New York. The Legal Intern must have strong interpersonal and solid communication skills and be comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.

What You'll Do :

  • Assist with Private Equity transactional matters as instructed, including leveraged buyouts, mergers, acquisitions, exits, and growth equity.
  • Provide support with deal process, due diligence, and transaction documents.
  • Support attorney teams with ongoing portfolio company management.
  • Manage multiple tasks and complete under time constraints.
  • Collaborate with the Private Equity Legal team, Private Equity Practice Management team, and other Goodwin teams on additional projects as assigned.

Who You Are :

  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) and a strong attention to detail.
  • Motivated self-starter, who takes initiative and follows through.
  • A team player with exceptional client service skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong proficiency with Internet-based applications.
