Carpenter II

Performs a wide variety of building repairs, renovations and construction tasks. Work involves receiving work order assignments from supervisor to perform a variety of tasks such as :

• General maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of city buildings and facilities.
• Repair furniture, doors, windows, locks, door closures, panic bars and all types of roofs.
• Pour concrete, assist in framing, trim, siding, cornice, roofing and cabinetry on public building and facilities.
• Operate a pressure washer. Have knowledge of repair and installation of brick pavers.
• Use a multitude of tools and equipment associated with the trade to construct and repair various wood articles.
• May also be required to move furniture.
• Effectively assist in building or repairing all types of structures in accordance with standard of the trade.
• Correctly operate hand and power tools following all safety procedures.
• Perform assigned work in accordance with instructions.
• Maintain a clean safe work environment to include work vehicle and job site.
• Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described in the job description.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical.
