This position requires exemplary customer service skills, above average written and verbal communication skills, and an understanding of financial aid processes. The role will be performed at McMullen Hall and Jacket Student Central, with supervision by the Financial Aid Associate Director.

Duties and Responsibilities include :

• Customer Service : Provide front desk support at the Financial Aid Office, available for campus and City College events, screen and refer customers, explain financial aid offers, and understand student financial aid packages.
• Document Processing and Communication : Open and sort mail, review applications, track requests, generate correspondence, assist with Satisfactory Academic Progress, and respond to financial aid inquiries.
• File Review and Verification of Student Data : Review student eligibility, verify financial information, package and disburse aid, ensure compliance with regulations, and work collaboratively with other offices.

Qualities include exemplary customer service skills, thorough knowledge of financial aid forms, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Education Required : High School Diploma

Experience Required : Related office and / or business experience

Education Preferred : Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience Preferred : Worked in a financial aid office or performed finance-related work
