Missile Defense Specialist The Army's air defense artillery team relies on specialists to operate and maintain advanced surface-to-air weapons systems.
These systems provide mobile, short-range air defense protection against cruise missiles and other threats. To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements :
Be a U.S. citizen between 17 and 34 years old.
Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
Meet tattoo guidelines.
Have no major law violations.
Be eligible for a Secret Security Clearance.
Nationally recognized certifications are available, including Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training. The skills learned include weapons operations, detection and destruction, and defensive operations.
