Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (Upstate New York nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Medical Surgical Unit

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 14, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Nursing Shift : 12 Hour Nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Patient Population : Adult and geriatric patients, including medical and post-surgical (orthopedic, bariatric, spine, general surgery) cases

Charting System : EPIC

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent acute hospital nursing experience

Active New York State RN license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Proficiency with EPIC charting

Ability to float to other units as needed

Available to work every other weekend and holiday

Must pass an on-site, closed-book, timed ECG exam (study materials provided)

Facility physical required prior to start date

Flu vaccination required (medical or religious documentation accepted if submitted 10 days before start)

County Residency Restrictions : Candidates must not reside in the following NY counties : Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster, Albany

Medical Surgical RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an acute medical-surgical environment

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using EPIC

Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and post-discharge care

Float to other units as required by facility needs

Participate in facility-required ECG exam and complete all onboarding requirements
