Job Details

We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist who thrives in an environment where accuracy, communication, and accountability matter. This role plays a key part in keeping our projects on track financially and operationally — ensuring payroll, reporting, and reconciliations are handled with precision and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Payroll & Certified Payroll : Process weekly payroll and time entries for field and office employees; prepare certified payroll reports per Davis-Bacon and Prevailing Wage standards.
  • Project Accounting : Manage job setup, data syncs, and cost tracking within Foundation, Procore, and the Foundation Integration Tool (FIT) to ensure projects run smoothly and financials stay accurate.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable : Review and post invoices, receipts, and statements; assist with check runs, year-end 1099s, and reconciliation of credit cards and expenses.
  • Cash Management & Treasury : Oversee cash activity, ACH and wire transfers, bank reconciliations, and positive pay and deposit monitoring.
  • Union & Compliance Reporting : Process union contributions and maintain documentation aligned with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Audit & Financial Support : Prepare audit schedules, maintain documentation for compliance reviews, and support month-end and year-end close.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field staff to resolve issues quickly and maintain trust between operations and accounting.
  • Special Projects : Partner with the Controller and leadership team to streamline systems, automate processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of accounting, payroll, or related experience — ideally within construction or a project-based industry.
  • Strong Excel and accounting system skills; experience with Foundation or Procore is a plus.
  • Knowledge of certified payroll, prevailing wage, and Davis-Bacon compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and follow-through.
  • Service mindset and comfort working with both office and field teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Multi-state or union payroll familiarity a plus.
