Job description

Join a spectacular team as a Mobile Optometric Assistant, working alongside skilled Optometrists in nursing homes throughout Brooklyn and Queens! Key Responsibilities :

  • Update the daily roster and prepare Optometry Exam charts for each resident to receive care.
  • Communicate and document schedule changes (cancellations / refusals, etc.) in collaboration with nursing staff.
  • Hands-on measurement, fitting, and repair of eyeglasses, ensuring residents look and feel their best.
  • Assist the Optometrist during clinical examinations.
  • Capture fundus images and submit them for review by the Optometrist.
  • Organize and electronically submit all essential documents to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Respond proactively to inquiries from office staff and show your team spirit!

Pay and Benefits :

  • Get rewarded with a competitive pay range of $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on your experience.
  • Gas / mileage and tolls will be reimbursed for travel.

  • Work Schedule :

  • Enjoy a balanced workweek with 4 days of action (Monday to Thursday).
  • Enjoy working hours from 8 AM to 3 PM approximately.
  • Location :

    Be ready to travel to multiple nursing home sites in Brooklyn and Queens, with the thrill of new environments! Travel may be up to an hour from your home base, with mileage, gas reimbursement, and toll coverage to keep you moving.

    Requirements :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an optometric technician or in a similar rolebring that expertise!
  • A degree in medical assistance is preferred but not essential.
  • Familiarity with medical office management systems and procedures is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive and other tech tools is a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to connect with the team and residents.
  • Must be willing and able to work at different sites and have your own vehicle to commute to / from work-sites.
  • Must be willing to travel up to an hour away from your home base.
  • Bring your A-game as a team player with a neat and professional appearance suitable for a healthcare setting.
  • A valid driver's license and a registered vehicle for daily travellet's hit the road!
