ABC13, Houston’s top-rated news channel, is looking for an experienced manager for a portion of our 13 hours of live daily news.

This role will encompass all of our digital and linear endpoints. The right candidate will have experience managing teams across that spectrum.

The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, understands the nuances of streaming and broadcasting elements, and possesses strong technical skills to manage and operate our newsroom production system. They should have recent experience in a control room, producing and managing newscasts.

Responsibilities Oversee daily operations, production, and leadership of streaming products and live events.

Manage linear newscasts, including production, execution, and news judgment.

Train staff producing linear or streaming newscasts with limited resources.

Basic Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in a Top 10 market managing local news streaming products.

Ability to make quick, strategic decisions and collaborate closely with newsroom and station leaders.

Demonstrate a strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership style.

Education Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, or a related field.
