Job Description :
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University required in related field.
Master's degree from an accredited College or University preferred in related field.
Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in Healthcare Education with demonstrated management or leadership abilities and acute care experience.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating clinical programs.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES :
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advance Life support (ACLS) preferred.
Advanced National Certification preferred.
Develops, implements and coordinates clinical programs through interdisciplinary collaboration and utilization of practice guidelines. Participates in strategic plan development to anticipate clinical program requirements to support excellence in patient center care.
Develops and implements education, orientation, and training to support clinical programs and non-clinical staff development.
Determines appropriate delivery methods to facilitate transfer of content into practice.
Ensures that competency assessment systems and staff education programs throughout the organization consistently meet or exceed The Joint Commission and other regulatory current standards.
Provides leadership and consultation to assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical practice.
Develops and updates annually the facility education plan which includes trends rising out of quality improvement data and other indicators which reflect training or service deficits.
Coordinates all levels of life safety programs as needed.
Develops trend reports to support the education plan and assists other directors to identify critical issues and trains them in trending modalities.
Generates recommendations for alternative approaches to nursing practice and changes to policies, procedures and protocols based on data and research.
Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure coordination and integration of medical and clinical processes to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Facilitates training / specialty programs to enhance and support organizational growth, and participates as a team player.
Ensures that services are provided in an effective and efficient manner, providing high quality of care to patients and quality services to all customers.
Serves as a mentor to staff participating in the Clinical Ladder professional development program.
Coordinates and monitors clinical and non-clinical student experiences, including communication, directives and management of the organizational affiliation agreements.
Researches, writes, monitors and coordinates any grant opportunities to enhance education services for the organization.
Supports, coordinates and monitors corporate initiatives that align with strategic process improvement.
